Welcome to Dauchsy Meditations. This meditation will be different from the rest, and you will see why in a moment.

The simple act of breathing. The average of which we do about 23 thousand times every single day. A necessary activity we do effortlessly that we often just leave on autopilot. However, as you may already know, you have the ability to take control of your breath, for the purpose of regulating your state of mind, bringing yourself from a fever pitch to a state of calm. But did you know, that you can even use your breath to transcend the boundaries of the ego, bring yourself into a deep deep trance and even create a spiritual experience. Simply with your breath.

This isn’t merely some arcane spiritual practice. This has been studied extensively in the Psychology of the future: Lessons from modern consciousness research.
So the question is, how do we reach these deep trances and spiritual experiences? Well, we do that by using what is called holotropic breathwork. In addition, there are other benefits of this technique. It has been proven useful as a form of psychotherapy to help with trauma, helps decrease anxiety, it develops a sense of calm and creativity after each session, you create an altered consciousness, and greater self-discovery with this method. Others report of higher levels of trust in self, release of stress, and clarity in personal issues.

You can use this technique by finding a workshop that offers this, or you can try this on your own at home, which is what you will be doing here right now. I must warn you though, there are some risks associated with this technique. Due to the intense breathing, This technique is not recommended for those who have a history of psychosis, high or low blood pressure, glaucoma, or cardiovascular disease. Also be aware that there are intense emotions that arise from holotropic breathwork.

What you will be doing is simply breathing, yet, you will be breathing very deeply and very quickly. This This method of continuous breathing will bring you into a very deep trance, altering your consciousness, and is even said to bring about spiritual experiences. This technique can be difficult at first due to the intense breathing, but in time, your body will adjust, and it will become natural. If you do feel that this ever becomes too much to handle, it is ok, you can stop the process at any time.
